What's Stopping You?

Yes it's true sometimes we can be so busy chasing our dream that we sabotage our dream without even meaning to. Sometimes we want it so much a certain way that we forget that we might have to opt to do other things that we don't dream of doing just to obtain the dream.

We can spend a whole lifetime not even grasping that concept or recognizing that we are doing that. If you have a dream that you just can't seem to accomplish. You need to look at what's stopping you. Are you afraid to do what you have to do to get it. Isn't doing that dirty work worth it if it brings you closer to your dream? Of course it is and in the end you know you'll agree! So put on your boots and walk through the muck. It's the only way to the other side!

Well, I have wondered why my dream of living in the downtown neighborhood has not materialized even though I took all the steps for it to happen, including having my current house on the market for 7 months. It seems that I did the dirty work. I sure worked hard to keep my house in pristine showing condition!

I "took my boots off" when I received notice that I was being sued by my child's father for custody and child support. All my money since then has gone to my lawyer. Also, I'd look bad in court if I moved now. The interference appears to be beyond my control.

It's hard for me not to wonder if my dream was "wrong".

Hugs,
Betty

Betty, Thanks for sharing your thoughts here today.
Here are my thoughts on your thoughts :-)

The things we want the most in life are often the ones that take the most amount of work and offer the most challenges along the way. Believe it or not these items you mention aren't roadblocks unless you allow them to be. They are merely hurdles placed in the way on the journey to you dream's goal. If you jump the hurdles you'll be that much closer. Life demands this of us. I think its about earning what we desire. At the end of the day we'll see how valuable the dream was to us by the hurdles we were willing to jump.

Jon, we all have dreams. Even if you don't have a big dream per se you still must have little dream. You have a couple of blogs I see. Each one of those are a manifestation of your dream. We all have dreams some are as little and as easy to achieve as walking to fridge for a glass of chocolate milk. Others take a little more work and then there are those that take lots of work but we all have dreams every day all day long we will have one after another.

Bokjae, Great song! Thanks for stopping by. Always a pleasure to see you here!

I think we all get so caught up in life, that we're sometimes afraid to conquer our dreams head on. Thanks for this post.

I still have my little and BIG dreams. I'm still dreaming. And it's fun.
I am exploring my Dark Side.
I'm walking thru the mud to the other side.
But perhaps there is no other side. You are always where you are. This is dreaming and experiencing.

Wornoutwoman, Yes you are so right. We often do get caught up in things!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Siegfried, Ah well there is always another side but whether you get to it or not is another story and it isn't always what we hoped it would be either but its there off in the horizon waiting to be explored.

I take baby steps every day towards my dream, and some days I take steps backwards...but it's always in my heart, and I know I'll have it someday. All in God's good and perfect timing.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Desiree!

Good Monday morning to you, Desiree !

Nothing can get in your way when you are determined. Eventually, wth enough trial and error, there is success.

Part of my problem is clearly identifying what my dreams really are. I think I want something really bad but then when I end up achieving it, it is not what I thought. Goal setting is a constant challenge for me.

Desiree,
Good to hear your voice again! Yes, we must be willing to look outside the lines of what we preceive to be the route to our dream. Very good!
